Privacy Policy
Effective date: 26 May 2026
1. Overview
Qualitex3D (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our Instant Quote tool and related services.
Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the site.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Contact details (name, email address, phone number) submitted via our Contact form or quote requests.
- Project descriptions, notes, and manufacturing specifications you include with enquiries.
- Communication records when you contact us by email or through the site.
3D design files (STL / CAD)
- Our Instant Quote tool processes your STL files entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript. Geometry analysis (volume, bounding box, triangle count) is performed locally and the raw file is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- Files you choose to submit alongside a formal order request are stored securely and used only to fulfil your manufacturing order.
Usage data
- IP address, browser type, referring URLs, pages visited, and session duration (collected by our hosting provider and standard web server logs).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your quote requests and enquiries.
- To process, manufacture, and deliver your 3D printing orders.
- To send order confirmations, production updates, and shipping notifications.
- To improve our website, pricing engine, and service offering.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable under data protection law (including the GDPR), we process your data on the following bases:
- Contract performance — to fulfil an order or respond to a quote request you have initiated.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and improve our website and services.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain records for tax or regulatory compliance.
- Consent — where you have explicitly opted in (e.g., marketing communications).
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We may share your information with:
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — for website and email hosting.
- Logistics partners — solely to deliver your completed order (name, address, tracking).
- Payment processors — we do not store card details; payments are handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors.
- Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, or insurers under duties of confidentiality.
- Law enforcement — when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Data Retention
- Contact and quote enquiry data is retained for up to 2 years after last contact.
- Order and invoicing records are retained for 7 years to satisfy legal and tax obligations.
- Website log data is retained for up to 90 days.
- Client STL and design files submitted with an order are retained for 30 days after order completion, then securely deleted unless you request longer retention.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction — including HTTPS encryption in transit and access-controlled storage at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data where we have no overriding legal basis to retain it.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@qualitex3d.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to persons under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us immediately.
